Stillman College invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of Voice. We seek a dedicated and collaborative musician-educator to support the department’s mission of excellence in teaching and performance. The successful candidate will contribute to both applied and classroom instruction while supporting the performance needs of the department.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
● Teach applied voice lessons to undergraduate music majors and non-majors
● Prepare students for recitals, juries, and performances
● Teach academic music courses, including Music History and Literature, Diction, and additional courses as assigned based on departmental needs.
● Mentor students in vocal development, repertoire selection, and performance practice
● Assist students with audition preparation and professional development
● Participate in departmental meetings and activities as appropriate
● Participate in student juries, recitals, and departmental performances
● Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment
● Support recruitment, retention, and mentoring of students
● Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment

 

Required Qualifications
● Master’s degree in Voice Performance, Voice Pedagogy, or a related field
● Demonstrated experience in teaching applied voice
● Strong knowledge of vocal technique and standard vocal repertoire
● Excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications
● Master’s degree or higher in Music (Voice Performance, Vocal Pedagogy, or a closely related field)
● College-level teaching experience
● Experience teaching diction (e.g., Italian, German, French, or English lyric diction)
● Experience working with diverse vocal styles and student populations
● Familiarity with standard vocal literature and performance practices
