Description

Assist the Head Cross Country/ Track & Field Coach in the following areas: 

  • Actively scout and recruit male and female student athletes for Cross Country and Track & Field, ensuring the program attracts talent that fits the college's academic and athletic standards.
  • Conduct recruitment visits, phone calls, and attend meets to evaluate potential recruits. 
  • Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of daily practices for both Cross Country/Track & Field teams. 
  • Assist with the planning and supervision of strength and conditioning sessions as needed, ensuring student-athletes are adhering to their fitness regimens. 
  •  Ensure compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional policies and regulations. 
  • Help with the ordering, distribution, and maintenance of team equipment. 
  • Track inventory and ensure athletes have the necessary gear for practices and competitions. 
  • Assist in organizing and participating in fundraising activities for the program, including events and campaigns. 
  • Help build relationships with donors and alumni to support the financial needs of the program. 
  • Ensure compliance with NAIA, conferenceand institutional policies and regulations. 
  • Support the department's commitment to academic success, monitoring student-athletes' academic progress, and providing assistance when necessary. 
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled team meetings and staff meetings. 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with athletic department staff, faculty, and other college personnel. 
  • Work early mornings, nights, and weekends, ensuring full participation in practices, events, and other team activities.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed by the Head Coach to support the overall goals of the department and program. 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.  

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain). 

Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 

Passion for working with student-athletes and promoting both athletic and academic excellence.

Previous coaching experience in cross country and/or track and field (college-level experience preferred).  

Proficiency in technology and software relevant to coaching and recruiting

Valid driver's license and ability to maintain clean/satisfactory record.
