Description

The Supply Chain Management Professor is a full-time, face-to-face faculty member responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, procurement, transportation, and related business disciplines. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, engage in scholarly and professional activities, contribute to curriculum development, and support the mission of the institution through service and student engagement.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching
Teach a full-time course load of supply chain management and related business courses in a face-to-face classroom environment.
Develop and deliver engaging instruction using current industry practices, case studies, simulations, and experiential learning activities.
Prepare and maintain course syllabi, assignments, assessments, and instructional materials.
Incorporate technology and data analytics tools relevant to supply chain management into classroom instruction.
Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records.
Student Advising and Mentorship
Advise students regarding academic progress, career pathways, internships, certifications, and graduate study opportunities.
Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students.
Assist with student recruitment, retention, and placement initiatives.
Mentor student organizations and participate in student success activities.
Curriculum Development and Assessment

Participate in the design, review, and continuous improvement of supply chain management curriculum.
Assist in developing new courses, certificates, micro-credentials, and academic programs.
Support program assessment activities and student learning outcomes evaluation.
Ensure curriculum remains aligned with industry trends and accreditation standards.
Scholarship and Professional Development
Maintain professional qualifications through scholarly research, publications, presentations, certifications, consulting, or industry engagement.
Stay current with developments in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, transportation, operations management, and global trade.
Participate in professional organizations and conferences related to supply chain and business education.
Service
Serve on departmental, institutional, and community committees.
Participate in faculty meetings, commencement exercises, advising events, accreditation activities, and institutional initiatives.
Foster relationships with business and industry partners to support internships, experiential learning, and workforce development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Supply Chain Management or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college or university level.
Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent) in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Professional certifications such as:
o APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
o Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
o Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
o Lean Six Sigma Certification
Previous teaching experience in higher education.
Industry experience in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, or operations management.
Experience with ERP systems, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or supply chain analytics software.
Physical Requirements
Ability to teach in a traditional classroom environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Ability to perform duties associated with classroom instruction, advising, and service activities.
